I suggest we send to Pedowitz a mock-up missing flyer, with a picture of Purgatory Dean, and a text that would go like : Missing:Dean Badass Winchester Date of disappearance : at some point during season 12 The authorities would like to interview showrunners Singer and Dabb, who are both persons of interest in that case. Reward : a stop at the slow dunk of ratings

We never wrote to the right people, Snow. We wrote to the showrunners, who don't care about us, when we should have been writing to Pedowitz and Roth. The psycho nutjob Wincesters and J1 types who love to inform Danneel and Gen that they are standing in the way of TWU MANWUV are doing their level best to dominate the Twitter stream. Ugh, I can just imagine . Thank the Good Lord I have, over the course of the last couple months, steered away from fandom social media and just stuck with Jensen and Danneel. I wouldn't be able to stomach it.

Took me a while to write it, but I sent an e-mail to. I'm afraid it's gonna come off as ranting, even though I was extremely polite... Anyway, while I'm no expert, the ratings seem to be dropping, and *that* should bring attention. By the way, can someone tell me who brings the most money? the "live" viewers would have commercials I suppose, but are there also commercials if you tape it, or does the box automatically remove the adds?

It's long been speculated that the demo that best predicts renewal chances on major networks is the L+3+commercials A18-49 demo. However, while we do get the L+3s pretty frequently now, we almost never get the commercials version.
The past year or two, with the rise of Netflix, Hulu and Amazon, has seen a major flux in renewal criteria. FYI, for streaming purposes, a really long-lived show like Supernatural actually has better chances than a brand-new one because more episodes=more streaming profit.
Nielsen families' viewing is carefully measured, including whether or not they watched live, with DVR, and whether or not they watched with commercials. The latter is most valuable to advertisers, for fairly obvious reasons.

Yeah, looks like we're back to having to do this. It's exhausting. That "missing flyer" idea sounds good. In fact, I'd like to tweet a version of that to Pedowitz, Dabb, and I've actually started to include Jensen in my tweets because at this point I think he really needs to know how unhappy some of his fans are with the deterioration of his character. Jensen has stepped up before when he was unhappy - in season six and after season eight. He needs to do it again, because at the end of the day he's really our only hope.

I'm working on a mock up flyer, I'll put it on line (don't know where but I'll find something) when it's done for those who may want it.

Here's the flyer. I'm no Photoshop or even Word wizard, so it's pretty basic. You can get it here on doc, jpg or pdf : www.mediafire.com/folder/ukj70lgl3sa1p/Missing_DeanPS : If anyone notices something inavertently offensive about it (except the "missing" part), could you be please tell me? I'm not American, so something that seems funny to me might not be funny at all. And anyway, feel free to modify... PS 2 : I hope the picture isn't too big, I couldn't find if they were size limitations in the forum rules. ETA : For whatever reason, clicking on the mediafire link is not working, so you must copy/paste it rather than click...

What gets me is that the reason why Dean's kills are usually cool and Sam's usually suck is simple--Dean's kills are usually about how badass the monster is, how dangerous it is, how hard it is to kill. Sam's kills are about checking off a list. Did Dean get to kill an Alpha? Let's give Sam an Alpha kill, too! Did Dean get to go to another realm? Let's have Sam go there, too!
So, instead of telling a good story, it becomes about stupid things like "balance" (which translates to "Don't let Dean be any more awesome than Sam") and we get terrible, boring writing.
