So, how would you rate this one?
P.S. I added the <0/10 option for this ep and the next one.

Kinda busy, this one, but at least it cleared a lot of the worst bilge on the lower decks. And Jensen got a kickass scene or two. Plus, Awesome Jody.

5, and all the points are for Jensen. At least the LOL are out.

Yeah, I was really worried we'd get stuck with some of them. Yes, the "old men" may try again (though, from the fan reaction, that's not likely), but they'd have to re-start from scratch.

I yelled grenadelauncher way before Dean came up with it. But finally Jensen, I mean Dean used it. But then he got himself injured ...
The weird 'little afraid to lead' from Sam (uhoh) Did not like that, what did he meant by it. Ah Sam takes Dean's leading role (because that hasn't happened yet!)
And yes offcourse Sam says will you follow me, not us, no me. Dean gets sidelined because of his injury but he had alternate motives for it.
Sam gets all the headshots, sure. The old lady Hess breaks another hunters neck. Not sure if she has that kinda strength but whatever.
And then finally Dean gets mad at Mary **Hallelujah!!! Praise Chuck** Wait what?!! ...
...... for Sam. Sam's girl, Sam being possessed by Lucifer, Sam being tortured in hell, Sam being soulless.
And naturally Mary gets the kill.
Oh it was a great kick ass fight between Ketch and Dean, but even though Mary deserved the kill. They both could have shot him. Luckily Sam didn't get to kill Hess, but Jody. Who btw was great at kicking ass.
10/10 for Ackles alone.

I'd give this one an 8/10
Dean coming up with the plan and executing their rescue was terrific. The Dean and Mary parts, especially their discussion, were engrossing and my favorite of the episode. I liked that Sam actually corrected himself and spoke in terms of his mistake and did not persist with the "we" dialog, as Dean was not to share in that blame, and that he decided to pass instead of falling back in with them again. Dean and Sam were not joined at the hip for the entire episode, and I think because of that that their scenes both together and apart benefitted from it. Added plusses, Tony and Retch are dead and the BMoL story seems to be finished (hope it stays that way). But the episode still loses points because the BMoL were included in as much of the episode as they were , and the few WTF?! moments this episode had.

I'd give it a 5. There was definitely some good: Jensen giving another Emmy-worthy performance, Dean finally using the grenade launcher, the Dean-Ketch fight, Mary admitting she'd been a cold bitch to the brothers, THE END TO THE BMOL!!! Bye, bye, Lady Toni!
But there was just as much bad: Sam taking over Dean's leadership role and his boring St. Crispin knock off speech, Berens focusing on how much poor Sam suffered while ignoring Dean's own time being tortured in Hell, the anticlimactic return of Walt and Roy.
Yet another S12 episode where the FF will come into major play during rewatch.

It was pretty good for this season.... but...
they squandered reintroducing Roy and Walt. Sam the leader made me roll my eyes. Dude is consistently a fuckwit and everyone should know it by now. Sam's big speech was not good... like if you told me they took parts of other big speeches verbatim, I'd believe you. A lot of "I've seen this war movie a few times before" deja vu. Super lazy and paint by the numbers. the house scene also felt like an AAH ripoff which reminded how much the BMoL suck and how much Lucifer sucks now. of course Dean didn't go on the big raid. Of course. i didn't care that much about saving Mary, tbh. I would have been fine with her story ending there. they were not consistent with what looked like a serious knee injury.
i did like Dean finally getting to use his toy and have an idea. JA's acting and getting to have those heavier scenes. And he got an action scene!... he didn't get the kill but.... season 12. Christ. The bar is so low. the idea of liking the dream world more than reality was good to see again. The show has done the temptation of that well before and it felt like a decent addition to the struggle of facing the real world. the show acknowledged and showed a group of hunters. Nice treat. jody is always great... leave her alone, morons. Ketch and ko. died. <3
