I decided to do another poll. I didn't include Robert Singer in it, as the focus is more on the creative end of things.
So, who do you think was the best showrunner, out of the four, this show has had?

I'll go with Carver without hesitation. I may have been unhappy about the trials storyline, but the rest more than made up for it. I had issues with Kripke, and Gamble only looks better in retrospect because Dabb is so much worse. So yeah, Carver, a million time.

Yes, despite some of the unwise decisions in his tenure, I think he did a fine job overall. And he happens to be my pick out of the four of them as well. IMO he provided a better balance of story and POV, than the others, with regards to all the characters (and not just his favorite) as well as having them connected to the central myth-arcs. ETA: I figured that it would be between Carver and Kripke when I put up this poll, but I thought it would be a closer competition between them. I think he did well, even though he had some very good and much needed help. He was the showrunner during this shows early years, when new and younger series have intrinsic obstacles and challenges that add to their difficulty to overcome and succeed. Hmmm interesting .

Carver definitely had his daft and crappy plots, but you always knew he could come up with a better one down the line. And he introduced some balance (as well as some great female characters) into the overall storyline. Some of his Dean plots were among the most popular mytharcs the show had.

IMO the only thing that made Kripke's reign close to Carver's for Dean fans was due to Kim Manners softing up some of Kripke's writing and adding heart/soul to the story of family. He's one that recognized JA's true talent and went with it as much as he could. But Carver is the one and only that actually gave Dean mytharc's and some character development instead of the typical Dean is Sam's brother trope.0

Kim was extremely talented in many regards, as well, as that one. Jensen, too, saw his own character as more than just a prop for Kripke's Boy King author insert. So because of them, as well as the others, is why I said that Kripke had a lot of much needed help. Though, I still will give props to Kripke for some of his contributions.
Carver is still my pick for the best out of the four.
