Sam and Dean must stop Rowena, who is on a deadly mission. Meanwhile, Castiel looks to heaven to recruit angels for an impending invasion but is shocked by not only what he finds, but who.
First of all, Rowena, not sure if I'll like this episode. Perhaps I maybe the only one who doesn't like her character, but I'm guessing she'll probably have an important part to how things will go down for the rest of this season. Guess we'll see.
I'm glad Cass has something to do, seems lately all he's been doing is just backing what the boys have been doing with no real storyline, I think it'll change as the season is winding down.
By the episode description, it almost seems like a filler episode with Rowena being back, but it's pretty vague, I think more vague than usual.
I'm hoping this episode will be more of a follow up on the ending of Ep18.
Well, I just did a quick check on this episode and found an interesting article The Christian Post.
Here's what it says:
Rowena (guest star Ruth Connell) is back, and this time around, she does not intend to play nice with the boys in the upcoming episode of "Supernatural."
In the episode titled "Funeralia," the synopsis reveals that Crowley's (Mark Sheppard) mother will reappear. The last time she was seen, she helped Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) defeat the two witches who stole a book of spells.
Rowena is reportedly on a deadly mission and nobody will not be able to stop her, not even the Winchesters. The promo shows Rowena wrenching open Sam's shirt as if to draw blood. Whatever she is planning, she needs the younger brother to make it work.
Elsewhere, Castiel (Misha Collins) will be busy looking for recruits who will help in the looming heaven invasion. He wants angels who will assist in toppling Lucifer's (Mark Pellegrino) regime. This is the right time to challenge his position, since the angels there are starting to change their minds in supporting him. Lucifer even tried to kill Sister Jo, a.k.a. Anael (guest star Danneel Ackles), when she said he was scared to face Jack (Alexander Calvert).
Jo was the one who helped him secure his seat in heaven. After what happened, he lost a powerful ally. She also managed to convince most of the angels to turn their backs on Lucifer.
This is the perfect opportunity for Castiel to strike, but when he arrives in heaven, he will be surprised to see someone very unexpected there. As for Dean and Sam, they will encounter a reaper who will take perverse pleasure in stalking them. The woman says Death has ordered her to watch over the brothers. She is cheerful, at least, even when she is watching Dean being strangled to death in front of her.
Meanwhile, the episode is also expected to show the dilemma that Sam and Dean have after Gabriel (guest star Richard Speight Jr.) refused to fight against the apocalypse version of Michael (Christian Keyes). After killing, Asmodeus (Jeffrey Vincent Parise), the archangel said he did not want to be part of the Winchesters' plan. Dean and Sam were frustrated since they were sure that Gabriel would help old friends like them.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ackles said that the brothers were counting on him to say yes. They needed someone like Gabriel to defeat the enemy and save Jack and Mary (guest star Samantha Smith).
"There's a shock to it obviously, but given the things and the nature of what they've seen over the course of 13 years, there's not a lot that really truly shocks these guys anymore. They're a bit like war-torn heroes at this point, and it's not totally unbelievable for anything to happen anymore. So I think it's more excitement at the fact that, 'Hey, we finally have somebody that we need and we can use this person, and now we have an ally that is very beneficial to have.' So, it's all about finding the angle," the actor added.
"Supernatural" season 13 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.

Well, I don't know what to think of this episode.
There were a lot of revelations in this episode. Sam will be the one to kill Rowena, Castiel learns the truth of what's happening in Heaven, and Dean and Billie will be meeting very soon again.
About Rowena, she wasn't actually to bad in this episode, I mean her character not her behaviour this time round. Rowena, she wasn't over the top as she sometimes gets, even when we learn of why she's killing humans and reapers. Her wanting to meet death to bring back Crowley, is probably the most human she's been in a very long time. Though I'm a bit skeptical as of why, is she truly missing Crowley or is the fact that her relationship with Crowley never finished on a high note of a kind of reconciliation. Rowena's character really hasn't had much character growth, she'll still fairly self-centred and unable to understand that what she does truly have consequences because she just doesn't care. So with Sam telling her we help change people's fate a good thing? I'm not sure her character can be redeemed, sometimes evil is just evil but with a little sugar coating on top. Guess we'll see if Sam can follow through on his 'promise'. Btw, that Tango was danced terribly, hehe.
Poor Cass, it seems he's always discovering things too late especially with news from heaven. Only 9 angels left for heaven to keep running? Seriously, why weren't the remaining angels trying to contact and him earlier? I'm hoping we'll actually find out why there only that many left. and what other revelation will we learn about heaven? And how will this tie into what's happening in the World 2? There has to be a tie in somehow. Also, will Cass tell them how he died and came back from The Empty? About Naomi, I was so glad when she was gone, but now she's back. Is that a good thing? Naomi is very rigid in how things are done, will she be able to accept new ways of how things to be done. With her still recovering from her 'mishap', will she be even able to help to save heaven. I also don't see how Gabriel will ever help, he's given up on everything, maybe this will be a redemption arc for him? Him bring faith and restoring heaven? I wonder if the heaven storyline will continue onto next season.
Dean and Billie. I like Billie now, she's one of those characters that kinda grow on you in time. There really wasn't much interaction between Dean and Billie, but it's kind of a throw back to earlier this season when Dean died and came back. With her telling Dean 'I'll be seeing you soon' as she leaves, does that mean Dean will do a deal with her? Or is he on the cusp of one of his probable deaths? Or will he have to make a decision that can have repercussions in all the storylines to date? It's all nice and cryptic with maybe a hint of a threat. It's almost like the original death, hinting at things but he was much more subtle and condescending. So, I wonder if this means that Dean will have a bigger story with the finale?
Overall, this episode wasn't a fast paced one, if anything it jumped around almost too much. At this time in the season, episodes like this are what they usually look like. Trying to speed things up for the finale by trying to wrap/tie things up all at once. Will all the storylines converge? Hard to say, too many things are on the table and maybe not enough time to resolve most of them. Maybe now that Season 14 has been approved, perhaps this will become like the earlier seasons, where each season blended into one another instead of jumping into a whole new story.
thesnowleopard: The season finale was better than last season's finale. Hell, the whole season was better than last season. Some episodes were worth watching. Others were kinda messy.

onali: Since I haven't been watching the show I don't know how some (former) dead characters have returned (in what form) but I have to say that I don't miss the show at all. Is it still worth watching or not?

onali: It's been a long time since I've been here. Only watched the Season premiere then .... nothing. Every now and again I watched what you were rating the episodes and yes I've seen some spoilers (can some people just please stay dead??!!!!!) (1)

paforrest: Belatedly checking in from Florida. My roof held and no trees fell on the house, miraculously enough. Spent two days cleaning up debris in the yard, but we fared better than most, for which I'm grateful. But I feel for so many that are suffering.

SkeksisGirl: Oh, the new owners for Megacon are just turning it into a meat grinder. They've screwed over a lot of people.
May 27, 2017 16:59:57 GMT -5
paforrest: Yeah, I've been to a few Megacons in the past - they can be a cluster. But I was talking about how years ago I'd have been thrilled if a Creation SPN con finally came here. Now it is and I don't care and can't justify the money. Changing times.
