I have to say i really liked Jared in Mystery Spot, both making me feel sad and even scared at parts. Born Under a Bad Sign wasn't bad either and neither were All Hell Breaks Loose.

Yeah, I liked Mystery Spot too. One of my favorite scenes is the diner scene.

Yep, Mystery Spot is a favourite of mine too.
I'm not a huge Sam fan, so I actually really like any episodes where Jared gets to be a goofball. Sam, Interrupted is one that springs to mind. He has a couple of raw, moving scenes, but mostly it's Jared hamming it up.

Jared did a really good Meg, I think it is one of my favorite "not-Sam" characters he's played. Threatening but also fun. And yeah, he does have good comedic timing the writers should use it more.

"Born Under a Bad Sign" and "Plucky Pennyweather." Jared was good as Meg (and there's a lot of great Dean-damage) in Born. As for Plucky, I like Sam best when he lightens up and gets down off the cross. In that ep, he not only does that, but he admits that he felt better afterward. Jared can be very funny. It's too bad he's so uneasy about doing comedy.

I didn't know about him being uneasy about doing comedy, it is one of his bets strengths. I always figured he would end up going into ore comedy based shows/movies after Supernatural.

As odd as it sounds, he's said a few times over the years that he feels more comfortable with drama.

That never made sense to me, either. If he feels uncomfortable about doing comedy, surely giving him positive feedback that he does it a lot better than he thinks he does would make him feel more confident, not less.
After all, Leslie Nielsen started out in serious roles and only branched out into comedy later in life. Same with William Shatner.

Maybe this is me being a bitch, but I'd be like "Jared, I know you're not comfortable with it. But you rock is. So suck it up buttercup and push through."
Of course... I also have an idea for a script where he's playing Jim Carrey's son and reacting to whatever nuttiness Jim is doing.
This is what happens when Jared fangasms because I called him Jim Carrey Jr. I want to write a script for the two of them.
