So, the Brother are being disarmed...and I just lost signal because of a thunderstorm. Not. Happy. Look at it this way, the thunder storm may have been a blessing in disguise.

Possibly, but since I'd already suffered through 52 minutes of that crap, not even getting to see how it turned out really torqued me off.

I wasn't expecting anything with this episode, considering it was the Nep-Duo's. And it's a good thing I didn't, because it was just .

Sorry, misspoke. The current low was 1.38 million, so this didn't hit a new low.

Sorry, misspoke. The current low was 1.38 million, so this didn't hit a new low. Seriously, how low does it actually need to get for the network to do something? We're in the last episodes of the season, people should be watching, shouldn't the fact that they're not be a red flag? And the few comments I saw on Twitter were far from complimentary, even if they tend to focus exclusively on Bucklemming while ignoring the showrunner part in it... By the way, I' curious about one thing... Do writers have actual power over deciding to kill a character? I would think that they need the showrunner go ahead to do so? Especially if they were not the creators of said character?

My understanding is the showrunner decides.

The writers have to pitch all story ideas and major plot points to the showrunners. The head writer (who is not necessarily in the final credits) also looks at final scripts. It's not entirely clear how involved a writer/showrunner is in the day-to-day of writing (apparently, it's usually at the bottom of the priorities list), but they do get the final say on all mytharc stuff and major decisions like killing off a recurring character. It's even less clear how much influence an incoming showrunner has on season finale scripts that set up their storylines, but the showrunner at the time appears to make the final decisions on that, too.
So, for example, even though Dabb wrote last season's finale and introduced the Twat/LoL, it was Carver who signed off on Amara's final fate as well as Dean's role in it. And considering the way the entire season led up to that (and Carver was the sole showrunner), it was probably his idea all along to have Dean be the Firewall and such.
