Yep, that was a bit of discontinuity, wasn't it?
I thought there was an awful lot of clumsy writing and convenient coincidence (plus, some rather uncomfortable stereotypes). Also, building up to the point where Kaia finally decided to step up and be a Hero took way too long and did her no favors.
The camera work also looked wonky to me, though there was some good landscape cinematography splashed in. Too bad Cas didn't know, for all those years, about the alternate Angel version of "Stomp" to eradicate Angel warding. And Dean and Sam trapped in the "Land of the Lost" was such a stupid ending IMO for several reasons.
1, as always, for Dean/Jensen.

Team Free Will. One ex-blood junkie, one dropout with six bucks to his name, and Mr. Comatose over there. ~Dean
So, Trump's America was referenced but I distinctly remember a Presidential Lucifer pregnancy arc. Shouldn’t Trump's America not exist in the Supernatural verse.
That's funny, I didn't even remember the Luci as president storyline, mostly because I found S12 so lame and awful that I think I'm blocking it out. But, you're right, it doesn't fit, but continuity is not a word the SPN writers know the meaning of, or care about even if they do.
Of all the Waywards, I do think Kaia is potentially the best addition - certainly better than boring Patience Sue. Not that I really care about any of them, it's not like I'm going to be watching the show; but I found Kaia to be a little more interesting and better acted.
Though I find it highly amusing that the preview for the second part of the midseason episode focused entirely on Dean and Sam, when, from everything I've heard about it, I'm guessing they're barely going to be in the episode as it's the big backdoor pilot episode for the Waywards.
I anticipated they were going to show other AUs and not just the penny-sized apocalyptic world that Luci and Mary are in - or, rather, that Mary is still in, and Luci was in before he wasn't anymore. Easy way of keeping the brothers continuously out of Mary's orbit, which is just fine by me.
Before I saw the episode I read the backlash on twitter about Dean pulling a gun on Kaia; and, yeah, I do think it was OOC, even though I understand what he was going for and the mindset Dean was in at the time. Normally something like that would really piss me off, yet I don't know why but I found I just didn't give a damn.
The angel stomping was, naturally, a new twist on discontinuity - but at the same time I admit I found it kind of cool.
All in all, I don't know - I guess I'd give this a 3-4/10.

I can't tell you why you didn't give a damn, but I can tell you why I didn't - it was because I was as sick of Kaia's bullshit at that point as Dean was. That was the second time someone on TFW 2.0 had saved her ass, and it had just been made abundantly clear to her that she needed to stick closer to the herd, but she *still* wanted to take off with a "thanks, but no thanks, see ya!" At that point, I was ready for her to get ganked by some random angel. I hate slow learners.

I didn’t care for two reasons. Firstly, it was OOC and "that escalated quickly" writing so it made little sense. Secondly, it stems from a kind of OOC 180 in having to rescue Mary no matter what and I don't really care about that alt verse.
thesnowleopard: The season finale was better than last season's finale. Hell, the whole season was better than last season. Some episodes were worth watching. Others were kinda messy.

onali: Since I haven't been watching the show I don't know how some (former) dead characters have returned (in what form) but I have to say that I don't miss the show at all. Is it still worth watching or not?

onali: It's been a long time since I've been here. Only watched the Season premiere then .... nothing. Every now and again I watched what you were rating the episodes and yes I've seen some spoilers (can some people just please stay dead??!!!!!) (1)

SkeksisGirl: I'm not, and I think I'm gonna stop working SPN conventions. BTW, welcome!

gopacgo12: Ok, so is anyone here going to the Las Vegas 2018 Supernatural convention, because if so I will see you there, but i'd just like to talk to some others

thesnowleopard: I have to wait until tomorrow night to "live recap." I don't currently have live TV, just streaming.

paforrest: Excited is not what I'm feeling. But I've set the dvr, will live watch Gotham & Will & Grace, then The Good Place off the dvr. Maybe tomorrow I'll FF through SPN if, and only IF, I hear there's any good Dean.

onali: So ... who is excited for tomorrow? I still have to re-watch the last couple of episodes, but I am lacking the enthousiasm.

SkeksisGirl: Just FYI guys, Luxshine is going to be in Florida come mid October. She and I are going to be vending as artists at Spooky Empire. So much hugs and puppies to her when she's here.
Sept 25, 2017 18:55:18 GMT -5
luxshine: Thank guys. There was ANOTHER earthquake here today, but this time I didn´t even feel it. Just dealing with a bit of PTSD. So if you can send fluffy things and cute Jensen or Misha pics my way, I´ll appreciate it.
Sept 23, 2017 16:37:18 GMT -5
onali: Glad you all are ok over there.
Sept 22, 2017 19:31:28 GMT -5
paforrest: So glad you're okay, luxshine! Absolutely heartbreaking situation. And I'm terrified and devastated for Puerto Rico and the other islands impacted by Maria. Mother Earth is very pissed off at us.
Sept 20, 2017 7:25:07 GMT -5
luxshine: New Earthquake here in Mexico. Now... a bit more savage than last week's. But I'm ok!
Sept 19, 2017 20:37:51 GMT -5
SkeksisGirl: And now we may have Maria...
Sept 19, 2017 13:10:20 GMT -5
luxshine: I'm glad people from Florida are ok! We had a bit of an earthquake in Mexico, but other than three terrified kitties, I'm ok.
Sept 18, 2017 19:14:05 GMT -5
paforrest: Belatedly checking in from Florida. My roof held and no trees fell on the house, miraculously enough. Spent two days cleaning up debris in the yard, but we fared better than most, for which I'm grateful. But I feel for so many that are suffering.

SkeksisGirl: Checking in from FL, I survived Irma with power and no damage to my apartment.

SkeksisGirl: As for Creation, this is why I work them.
May 27, 2017 17:00:08 GMT -5
SkeksisGirl: Oh, the new owners for Megacon are just turning it into a meat grinder. They've screwed over a lot of people.
May 27, 2017 16:59:57 GMT -5
paforrest: Yeah, I've been to a few Megacons in the past - they can be a cluster. But I was talking about how years ago I'd have been thrilled if a Creation SPN con finally came here. Now it is and I don't care and can't justify the money. Changing times.
