Westworld, Doctor Who, Sherlock, Voltron: Legendary Defender, Dragons: Race to the Edge, Once Upon a Time, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Because ABC just had to cancel The Muppets... bastards.

I am a fan of The Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. They're a paranormal romance series that can be pretty smutty. But for the most part, the smut is few and far between and the books read like an episode of Buffy. They have a young adult sister series called Chronicles of Nick which is more like Buffy in tone.
I am also a fan of Mercedes Lackey's Elemental Masters series and her 500 Kingdoms series, which are retellings of fairy tales in somewhat imaginative ways.
Then there is Rick Riordan with his Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, Chucks of Asgard, Chronicles of Kane series, which, while for young adults, are good ways to bring older mythology into today's world.
But then, I also have a room that has one wall full of bookshelves.

Here are the rules for the forum that we expect every member to follow (Including Mods and Admins), beyond what they outline. More might be added in the future if staff members can think of anything that wasn't covered, but these are the basic rules of the forum as we have always followed. There are people who will scream freedom of speech, but freedom of speech does not mean freedom of consequences.
So, here we go.
Rule #1: Discussion of anything and everything is encouraged, just keep discussion topics in their designated places. No elaboration needed, as it is fairly clear.
Rule #2: A discussion cannot take place if the opposing sides of a topic are not being considered. If you can't stand talking to people you don't agree with, don't participate in discussions. Again, this should be obvious.
Rule #3: This site promotes freedom of speech. All opinions are accepted, but be ready to support yours if you enter into a discussion. We have a word filter in place, that you can turn on and off at your discretion. No words are prohibited otherwise. If someone's using a word that you find to be offensive, ask them to stop or even discuss with them why it offends you. If they're mature enough, they'll take your words into consideration and maybe even not use the word around you. Who knows? You might even change their mind and they'll stop using the word altogether. If you're not mature enough to even ask them to stop without demanding that they be punished for offending you, then Wayward Children is not for you.
Rule #4: There are various types of trolls. The ones we ban are unfunny trolls that attack the site and/or its members directly. Just because what someone said offends you does not mean that they were attacking you. Pointing out that what you said was wrong and/or not thought out well is not attacking you. How does this interact with Rule #3? Quite simply. Just because someone said something that "offends" you is not grounds for punishment. What they said must be directed at you, another member of the site, or the site as a whole AND must be more of an insult than "you're a stupidhead". If you insult someone, don't complain about them insulting you, as you've made yourself fair game. If someone questions your intelligence, either prove them wrong or get on with life.
Rule #5: Staff members are, in fact, considered members of the site. If you say something specifically against one that's intended to offend, you've no one to blame but yourself if the banhammer falls on you. If you have a problem with a staff member, take it up with another staff member. Whether you believe it or not, we are not all the same person, we do have different points of view, and we don't always agree on things.
In addition, if a staff member does determine that you are an unfunny troll and should be banned, you are more than welcome to ask another staff member to look into the situation. Provided, of course, that you actually weren't an unfunny troll. Because we have differing backgrounds, what one deems to be banhammer-worthy might not be such to another. If you do request a reconsideration, it will be discussed amongst the staff as a whole.
Rule #6: There has been some questioning as to what the rules are regarding the posting of images. Basic rule of thumb is that if it's not safe for work, don't embed it, just link and provide a description.
Rule #7: Don't import drama. So you've been banned or got into a dispute on another site. Guess what-we don't want to know. If you have a problem on another site you need to take it up with the staff on that site. Don't bring it here and stir up trouble with other members of that site. We have enough drama on this site as it is, without more being imported here.
Just a note- If a post or a topic violates #4 or #6, please use the report button. Even though we try our hardest we can't be in every thread at once. Reporting a post is the quickest way to call it to our attention.
For those concerned, no. Unless you've been punished already, you won't be punished for breaking any of these rules if you broke them before they were posted.
We've covered pretty much all the rules we can think of. What happens when they're broken?
Well, we're not unreasonable, so this is how we do:
1. If what you did was only a mild offense (as determined by the staff member dealing with the situation), you'll get off with a warning. Better straighten up, though, because if you get three strikes, and rule-breaking tends to be habitual (so once you get that second, you've pretty much doomed yourself to get the third). *It's Important to know that deleting your account and/or creating a secondary account does not reset your warning level.*
2. If the offense was medium (again, as determined by the staff member dealing with the situation), or you've gotten your third strike, you get a temporary ban. A medium offense ban or third strike for mild offenses will be anywhere from a few days to a week, depending. As mentioned above, if you think you've been dealt with too harshly, you can plead your case with another staff member. Know, though, that we do talk to one another about problematic situations.
3. If the offense was harsh (..you know the drill by now..), you're going to get a much longer ban. Could be about a month, but that'll be determined by the person dealing with your case. Again, you can plead your case, but if you did something warranting a ban longer than a week, chances are good that more than one staff member was involved with the ruling.
4. If the offense was worse than that, or you're discovered to be a troll and not an actual member (and we will know the difference when we check your post history), have fun elsewhere. You'll probably have a better hope of convincing Meyer to accept criticism than having your ban lifted.
Wayward Children’s Trolling Policy:
1. Wayward Children does not promote trolling of other sites. 2. Any members who choose to troll other sites shall do so knowing that it is not done in the name of Wayward Children. 3. Anyone who trolls in the name of Wayward Children is a stupid noob, or a troll who just wants to discredit us and shall be dealt with accordingly. 4. Anyone reading this far has, in fact, lost the game. 5. ? 6. Profit!

So, unlike the IMDB, this is a moderated forum, and we might as well have rules that we need to abide by. Including and ESPECIALLY the Moderators and Admins. So here are some straightforward rules as for what is good to post and what might get an instant warning/ban.
"Treat others the way you want to be treated" is a great rule, that some of us (including me) tend to ignore. So if you think your post might offend, it might be better to check it over or even ask someone if it's okay to post before you actually do it.
But what exactly should you NOT say to incur the banhammer? Well...
1. This site is home to every gender, people of multiple races, worshipers different religions [or none at all], people of different sexual orientations, etc. It is VERY unwise to post anything that might insult one of those groups of people. If you have to rat on a certain stereotype, try to be as respectful as possible to other groups and remember the stereotype does NOT apply to the ENTIRE group. There will be a strong chance that if you post something consider racist/sexist/homophobic/insulting to a group, then you will receive a warning and a much stronger punishment if it persists. Your threads will also be sent to the graveyard.
2. There is a difference between a debate and mudslinging. When you are trying to prove a point and the opposition is proving their point, try to give intelligent support to your argument while at least considering the opposition's. If you immediately go to insulting the other party, start to use ad hominems, etc. is NOT how you defend your argument. Neither is brushing off comments. Mudslingers may receive punishment based on their attitudes and the discussion will be tossed to the graveyard.
3. Do not post anything regarding finding websites that promote or allow illegal activity such as drug use, hacking, stalking, child pornagraphy, etc (For example, no websites that allow you to purchase illegal weapons or download child porn). This includes showing illegal videos that show content (such as animal abuse). Even if it is for a rant, DO NOT POST IT. Instead, post a news article on the issue. You WILL be banned immediately and be reported to authorities. No if's, and's, or but's.
4. For obvious reasons [legality and such], we can not have links that allow the pirating of copyrighted material (music, anime, movies, etc.). That means no links to torrents and fan subbed works** (No links to Demonoid, no links to Mangafox.. etc.). Those who fail to follow this rule will be warned and the link will be deleted (obvious spammers will be banned without warning). Please note that you ARE allowed to post links to videos of shows hosted by LEGIT companies that hold the copyrights. That means links to shows hosted by companies like Funimation, Crunchyroll, Hulu, etc. Are a-ok! If you're not sure whether the video is legit, please contact the staff before posting.
**Addendum, music videos, fan art, fanfic, and the like fall under the realm of fair use. So if you have a cool video you edited together of the Supernatural put to The Muppet Show, that’s fine.
5. Do not post links to websites that may contain malware (viruses, trojans, and such). You will either receive a warning or an instant ban (depending on whether it was intentional or not). This also applies to Images from such sites, whether they be in a post or your Signature or Avatar.
6. Do NOT create threads meant to harass a fellow member on this board (staff included). If you have a problem with a specific person, then send a private message to the staff (preferably a mod or admin) about this person and we'll see if we can clear the air. That means we'll either play mediators to your argument with the person and hopefully get you 2 to get along or punish the person if we see their actions being against the TS rules. You will be given a warning and your thread will be sent to the graveyard, even if the other person is not very liked.
7. Do NOT post anything to cause drama. That includes posting disgusting images like "goatse" and the like. Depending on the severity, punishment can range from a severe warning to an outright ban.
8. If you make a thread asking for advice/criticism, please actually LISTEN to it. Those that refuse to tend to bring drama and may often result with a graveyarded thread and warning if it does
9. PLEASE USE THE FRIGGIN' SEARCH BAR before you create a thread/topic. Before you make a "Vampire Sucks" topic, please do us a favor and use the search bar to see if there is already a topic on it (there is, btw). If there are at least 2 pages of posts, then it'll probably be merged with the original thread. If it is just made, it'll be graveyard'd. People who continue after 2 times breaking this rule WILL be warned and their posts graveyard'd . There's absolutely no excuse for being so lazy as to not use the search bar right there at the top of the page.
10. Be warned. It is NOT a good idea to post personal information (Address, Phone Number, School, etc.) on the forum because it can easily be search by google. Those under 18 will NOT be able to post up personal information. Those 18+ should take heed before doing so. Posting personal information on others is NOT allowed. The post will be deleted and the user will be given a warning. The 2nd time will be a ban and we WILL contact the authorities on your actions Personal Info: Social Security Number, IP, address (but saying what state/country you're from is ok), School Attending, etc.
11. Please be cautious in regards to spoilers. Some people have complained that we have spoiled things regarding TV Show, Books, and other media. Because of this, I would like to ask that you do in fact use the spoiler tags if you're going to reveal a HUGE plot point. Also, please do not use icons/signatures that do spoil huge plot points. Here's a Rule of Thumb when it comes to spoilers: Movies: If it's not out on DVD, it's a Spoiler. Comics: There has to be another issue out AFTER the one you're talking about, or it's a spoiler. TV: Same as comics, there has to be another Episode out, or it's a Spoiler. Books: It has to be out in Paperback (or out for a year) or it's a spoiler. Video Game: If it hasn't been out in the UNITED STATES for a year, it's a spoiler Those who break this rule about 3 times will be given a warning, since this isn't a HUGE deal but still pretty annoying.
There will be cases where posts/threads may be graveyard'd/edited/deleted without permission of the OP (usually in cases like 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, and 12). Do not be surprised by this and do not post threads meant to spark up the topic (which can be considered breaking rule #7). (This will be updated if other issues occur).
